Converting to other religion

People are free to practice any religion of their choice.People are born in a religion..Doesn't matter what religion is that but there is one for sure...They live their life as per the teachings of their born religion. But do all follow their born religion till death? Why do some prefer to follow other religion as all religion says the same thing...Correct me if I'm wrong..Some people change their religion for some reason or reasons which is normally an advantage for them.

I have always wondered why people change their born faith and what is that which gets changed in this exercise? Do people stop believing in God? Do they believe that they will get a better life in their new religion, both socially and economically? Errr..okie..converting to Islam in Malaysia might give you a better life since you have all the special privileges..That applies in Malaysia. You will get a far far better life..But do people have to or that desperate to convert just for this so-called better life? Aren't you cheating yourself? If you convert for the sake of a better life, you are just another materialistic person..Alright,this is a reason why people do convert.

Another reason is,marriage, normally love marriage...When you love a guy (applies to girls ) from another religion, the girl have to follow the guy's religion and thus convert to marry( not sure ). Why can't just the girl stick to the religion that she was practicing since born? Why do girls and the kids have to follow the guy's religion? Will you convert to other religion for love? Well, you might say,why cares which religion we follows when all religion are saying the same thing..Well,it is true but we do have the different believes and sort of things that we have practised since born right?. And specially in Malaysia, you have to convert to Islam if you wants to marry your partner which happens to be Islam. Why is that so? Can't they just get marry without converting?

And I don't understand why can't someone convert from Islam to other religion? Is that allowed or not? Can someone clarify me on this matter?

I guess you guys know which religion explains well about the picture above...Not being anti or what,it's just my view over the observance through some quotes from a holy book on television.

And the worse, some do try to convert others to their religion?? I have no idea whether you have come across of relatives asking or to say more specifically try to brain wash us by asking us to convert to their religion? Most of them have this problem that saying their religion is more superior all that.Damn you people!! If you have converted,go ahead with it,why forcing others to convert as well? It's really annoying when people preach about their own religion.

I am a believer that one should not change his or her born religion. A person is born in a faith and should die in the same faith. This is the only thing which comes with the person at birth and will go with the person on death. Also, religion should not be used as a bargain tool. Religion makes people internally strong. Using this internal strength, people should work to become externally strong. No body has a monopoly on religion. Some people misuse religion to serve their personal interests. This they are able to do as other people run away to other religion.

Well, you might say it doesn't matter as it is people's choice to choose what religion they wants to practice..But why do they have to convert? What's the difference between the religion that they was practicing and the religion they want to convert? Why? why? why?

Here is a message to get your day started!

There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I would marry you.' One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend. He asked her, 'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?'

The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him. Her boyfriend left her.

In tears and days later he had a note written to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.'

**

This is how the human brain often works when our status changes. Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.

---------------------------------

Before you say an unkind word -

Think of someone who can't speak.

---------------------------------

Before you complain about the taste of your food -

Think of someone who has nothing to eat.

---------------------------------

Before you complain about your husband or wife -

Think of someone who's crying out to GOD for a companion.

---------------------------------

Today before you complain about life -

Think of someone who died too soon.

---------------------------------

Before you complain about your children -

Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.

---------------------------------

Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep
Think of the people who are living in the streets.

---------------------------------

Before whining about the distance you drive -

Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

---------------------------------

And when you are tired and complain about your job -

Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.

---------------------------------

Before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another -

Remember that not one of us is without sin and we all answer to one MAKER.

---------------------------------

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down -

Put a smile on your face and thank GOD you're alive and still around.

---------------------------------

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything;

They just make the best of everything they have!
Stop complaining and get a life!! Start your day with a smile..

SMILE!!
After all,a smile not gonna cost a single cent for anyone but worth it more then that...

-Transvestites : Not humans??

Islamic officials bust transvestites gala in Malaysia..
Islamic officials in Malaysia detained 16 transvestites for taking part in a beauty pageant, according to a newspaper report here Sunday.

The participants were held as they contested the "Miss Universe Asia 2008" title at a resort hotel in the northeastern state of Kelantan, which is ruled by the Pan-Malaysia Islamic Party (PAS), the New Sunday Times said.

The PAS wants to turn Malaysia into a theocratic state under Islamic rule, and has made headlines for ordering fines for women wearing skimpy clothes and stricter enforcement of laws on separate male and female queues in shops.

Mohamad Abdul Aziz, chief assistant director of enforcement in the state, told the paper that 16 people aged between 20 and 30 were detained.

Some were dressed in Malay traditional outfits and others in evening gowns, the paper added.

Mohamad said another group of 50 transvestites who were preparing to join the competition managed to escape arrest, while about 300 people were present at the hotel to watch the event.

The Sunday Times said most contestants were teachers and bank employees.
Mohamad said action would be taken against the transvestites under Islamic Sharia law "for dressing and acting like a woman."

They could be fined or jailed for six months if found guilty, he said.
-Bernama.
What's wrong of being transvestites?? Aren't they humans with feelings? Who are transvestites? “Someone who dresses in the clothes usually worn by the opposite sex. Transvestites may be bisexual, heterosexual, or homosexual ” Do they harm anyone??Well,it's alright if PAS wants to fine for wearing skimpy clothes. But not for being transvestites.... After all, whats wrong transvestites join the competition ?? They not going for banging or what..

Come on,after all,it's just "Miss Universe Asia 2008" contest folks! Transvestites are humans too and they should be given freedom to lead a normal life as others and rights to join contests. And if you did read the news, most of the contestants were teachers and bank employees. See,they are leading a normal and standard life..Not prostitutes,as most of the transvestites would end up.. But why are they ending up in such kind situation?? It's not that they wanted to do that kind job badly but it purely because of our so-called perfect humans who feels it very hard to accept them in community..What to say community, even toilet facilities are not given to them!!!!!

Just put ourself in their situation and think how would they feel.
Islamic officials,

This is not a matter of social problems which will affect or influence the attitude of the people in Kelantan...Between,you guys should watch for more worse problems such as in the video below. You guys are too busy nabbing and slamming those who are really not a big problem but letting the real social ill youths and some even are among you people.

Come to the topic of transvestites , an adult has freedom for his own choices. His choices may be reasonable or erratic, but until they are not disturbing the freedom of other individuals in the society, society has no reason to brand them immoral or to punish them by banishing. The problem occurs when these eunuch/transvestites/ transsexual people starts to trespass the lines of freedom. They’re comfortable the way they’re living . They’re comfortable with the way they lead their life. Why so much fuss about a simple thing than can be simply changed by changing your mindset?

In most of the cases, the change is biological. Some people naturally start having the change and calling them immoral or even passing, a laugh against them is extremes. The first thing that will comes to mind of most people when talk about transvestites will be "they are prostitutes, bapuk, pondan " which degrades them. Look at yourself before degrading them. Not all transvestites are prostitutes and not all girls are good. There are some successful eunuchs and transsexuals living standard life and in fact some are in administration ,teaching and etc. Just accept them and their life will be better. Most of them have to resort to sex work (prostitution), because the society don't want to accept them.

Instead of detaining them for no apparent reason that is "for dressing and acting like a woman.",this individual rights must be looked after by the system and must be respected by the society. On Individual level, one may like/dislike them though. They must be provided the proper individual rights, and their rights must be safeguarded. They must also be regulated to respect others individual rights. Folks, accept them in this society and don't discriminate them. Perhaps,a washroom specifically for this individuals will be a good start.

Friendship and Love

Love and friendship....Which comes 1st?? Love or friendship or both,is it possible? When asked most of the people, they will go for friendship but when it comes to critical point and where you have to choose one, most will choose Love and I wonder why is that so..It's not that i hate love or what..It's just a big disappointment for me when it comes to friendship. Now I'm talking about girl-guy friendship..Can a guy and girl be true friends? Not friends but true friends like the one in one tamil movie acted by Sneha and Cheran, can't get the movie's name...In the movie, they are life long friends....This exist as a story only or does this really exist in real life?? How many of you have opposite gender as true friend without LOVE problem?? Well,if we see, most of the guy-girl friendship end in love, either both in love or one side and there goes all the problems if it is one side love...So,it's really hard for me to see a girl and guy be friends without this love problem...eh,I'm not bullshitting,I have the experience..Is it love and friendship two different things or one...Ya,Love blossom from friendship. So,is it one?

As one of tamil song's lyrics goes, Natpaachchu Love Illaiyae, Love Aachchu Natpillaiyae ( when there is love, there is no friendship and vice-versa ).Now,that's true..Everything will goes wrong in friendship when it turns to love ( one side love )...So,I feels it's really hard for opposite genders to be true friends or even just friends..There are few who can make it but it's really hard..Most of the time it is the guys who screw it up by proposing the girl and the girl will be rejecting like in the video below. Most of the guys will be friend with girls first to flirt later on...Haizz...

The lyrics of the above song that I feel have the meaning :

mugha nagha natmadhu natpalla
nencha thaghanaga natpadhu natpaagum
kaRka kasadara kaRpavai katrapin
maRakka seivadhu love aagum

Love is such a big mistake
Listen to me boy I know - No
Only friendship takes you higher everyday
As friends we grow

The lyrics that is in bold,is it true?
My question is..Can a girl and guy be true friends??

Alright, thats all for girl-guy friendship...Now it's for love and friendship..

One day, Love and Friendship met.

Love, proudly, said, "You know, all people in this world seek me. Without me, they cannot live. And you, you are useless. Without you, there is still me... People have their faith to have their beloved one. When they find their soul mates, you are nothing!!! Muahahahaha..."

"Ya, I know," said Friendship, "People can easily forget me if they find you."

"So," Love continued, "Why do you exist if I already exist? To be forgotten and hurt?"

Friendship just nodded. He said, "Friendship exists to put smile when love leaves tears."
Is it true?? Really this kind friendship exist?? When it comes to friendship and loves, most of people will say they give importance to friendship..As for me,it's bullshit..People dun really give a damn about it...Maybe not for some..But this is what happening..When it's the time to choose between this two, people tend to leave friendship for love...maybe one or two or three might not.But most of the time, love beats friendship and if u choose friendship over love, that's something really weird..or wow? eek

Love and friendship seems two different things that is really hard. Some prefer to be single thinking that love is headache and most of the time, love exist in the absence of friendship. No friendship, the next we will be looking is most probably will be love..or leaving alone without friends and love..Friends nowadays are merely for fun and when need help only..Friends in need are friends indeed, that is 'someone who needs your help becomes friendly in order to obtain it' or as most people understands it as 'someone who helps you when you are in need is a true friend'. Love vs friendship?? Which comes first?? This sorta of problem won't come if gf/bf and friends are understanding. But if not? Which comes first? Gone are those days where friends comes first..Now what comes first is the people who can satisfy our needs of life..sigh.

My next view will be on "so-called friendship".

# Reflection #

This story explains the LIFE that we are living.

"A little boy and his father were
walking on the mountains.
Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself
and screams: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh! !!"

To his surprise, he hears the voice
repeating,
somewhere in the mountain:
"AAAhhhhhhhhhhh! !!"

Curious, the little boy yells: "Who
are you?"
He receives the answer: "Who are you?"

And then the boy screams to the
mountain: "You're Stupid"
The voice answers: "You're Stupid"

Frustrated at the response, the boy
screams: "I Hate You"
He receives the answer: "I Hate You"

He looks to his father and
asks: "What's going on?"
The father smiles and says: "My son,
pay attention."

The man screams: "You are a champion!"
The voice answers: "You are a
champion!"

The boy is surprised, but does not
understand.
Then the father explains: "People call
this ECHO, but
really this is LIFE. It gives you back
everything you
say or do. Our life is simply a
reflection of our actions.

If you want more love in the world,
create
more love in your heart. If you want
people
to respect you, respect them.
This relationship applies to
everything, in all
aspects of life. Life will give you
back everything you have given to it.

Your Life is not a Coincidence.
It's a Reflection of You.

Newton's Third Law suits the life very well..
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

So,we must be ready to face the music of the action....smile

Girls VS Grown Women........

Girls leave their schedule wide-open and wait for a guy to call and make plans.

Grown women make their own plans and nicely tell the guy to get in where he fits

**********

Girls want to control the man in their life.

Grown women know that if he's truly hers, he doesn't need controlling.

**********

Girls check you for not calling them.

Grown women are too busy to realize you hadn't.

**********

Girls are afraid to be alone.

Grown women revel in it-using it as a time for personal growth.

**********

Girls ignore the good guys.

Grown women ignore the bad guys.

**********

Girls make you come home.

Grown women make you want to come home.

**********

Girls worry about not being pretty and/or good enough for their man.

Grown women know that they are pretty and/or good enough for any man.

**********

Girls try to monopolize all their man's time ( I.e., don't want him hanging with his friends).

Grown women realize that a lil' bit of space makes the 'together time' even more special-and goes to kick it with her own friends!

**********

Girls think a guy crying is weak.

Grown women offer their shoulder and a tissue.

**********

Girls want to be spoiled and 'tell' their man so.

Grown women 'show' him and make him comfortable enough to reciprocate without fear of losing his 'manhood'.

**********

Girls get hurt by one man and make all men pay for it.

Grown women know that that was just one man.

**********

Girls fall in love and chase aimlessly after the object of their affection, ignoring all 'signs'.

Grown women know that sometimes the one you love, don't always love you back-and move on, without bitterness.

**********

Girls will read this and get an attitude.

Grown women will read this and pass it on to other Grown women and their male friends".

Life Choices

Life is full of choices
Make sure you pick the right one
Don't listen to the voices

Hear only yours and you have won

Many people will tell you
You need to change your looks
Don't take to heart their view
Fabulous bods are found only in books

There is only one voice
That you should listen to
It will help make the right choice
That is perfect just for you

Your looks are your own
Someone will always love you
You will never be alone
Look in the mirror and you'll see who
And you will know who are you.

THE BIOCHEMISTRY OF HOPE

I often think that most people die of boredom, depression, despair, of not loving and not being loved. Perhaps we die mainly of having run out of reason to live. On the other hand, while the connection between mind and physiology is undeniable (though Western medicine still can’t quite get it), one can also push it too far.

No matter how enlightened one becomes, the body can apparently last only so long. Caroline Myss says: "Biography becomes biology," but even she doesn’t "reach for immortality."
As someone said, there is no such thing as "false hope."

Hope is a physiologically beneficial state, even if there is no logical basis for it. Even if we eliminated all disease, learned to be happy and fulfilled practically all the time, and maybe had organ transplants thanks to transgenic pigs, one day we would still keel over due to mitochondrial failure. Our energy-producing organelles appear to be the weak link.

While our nuclear DNA is wonderfully protected, unfortunately we seem stuck with poor mitochondrial DNA repair capacity, and can take only so many free-radical "hits."

I do know that the "immortalist" school of thought does have some answers to that, proposing gene therapy, as well as putting our brains on the hard drive (I’m not kidding!), but for our generation at least, death and taxes seem a certainty, regardless of spiritual development.

Still, it is amazing to contemplate the power of mind to keep us healthy. As long as you eliminate junk food and eat enough quality protein (animal protein is much better assimilated) and raw food, diet probably is not anywhere as important for cancer and heart disease prevention as staying happy.

Diet may be primary for adult-onset diabetes, but that’s probably the only disease where the diet link is obvious: too many carbs, blood sugar sky-high, too much insulin, cells can’t accept any more glucose, insulin stops working.

Almost everything else, we see depression lurking. And then, who knows, even in diabetes depression may be hiding in the background -- why do those people eat a whole bagful of cookies or a whole cake in one sitting?

So I believe that indirectly depression is the #1 killer, across the board, and possibly all over the world (it’s sadly ironic that one can get just as severe immunosupppression when depression is combined with excess sugar as when it is combined with malnutrition, especially protein malnutrition).

We can certainly die of depression, of the physiological devastation caused by negative emotions. And interestingly, many nutrients that have been found to be life-extending are also described as mood lifters.

positive emotions equals a better health + longer life

Closely knit communities, social and/or religious, appear to provide the affection and sense of being needed that may account for the longevity of their members. And it’s well known that pet owners are healthier and likewise enjoy a longer life expectancy. So do married men, benefiting from the nurturing of their wives. For women, however, the situation is more complex; single women do very well as long as they have close women friends.

Deeply religious people also enjoy better health and longer life, showing that in a sense it doesn’t matter where your positive emotions come from: a relationship with your mate, friends, pets, work, or, indeed, from having a personal relationship with God. However, I repeat: I don’t believe that we could live forever just by thinking positive and experiencing lots of positive emotions. Sooner or later free radicals would take their toll regardless.

But by staying happy, and I mean happy in a deep sense, the soul sense of leading a meaningful, productive, loving and maximally fulfilling life, we could probably live much longer and stay free of major diseases, until the free radical-caused mitochondrial failure forces a quick exit. When? At 120, or at 300?

Some scientists refuse to speculate, seeing the rapid progress in the field of anti-aging medicine. In spite of the official philosophy of Western medicine, unofficially many doctors probably know that emotional health is primary.

I’ve come across this message from a cancer survivor: "At the age of 28 I was told I had maybe six months to live. I just turned 43. In that time I have given birth to a daughter who is now 12. My oncologist gave me one hope. This is what he said:
"If you think you are going to die, chances are you will. If you think you are going to live, you have just increased your chances significantly. Eighty percent of your cure is your attitude."

And some doctors have expressed the fear that saying to a patient, "You have only 3 months to live" acts practically like a voodoo curse. It can produce almost instantaneous deterioration, rapid aging and decline until the patient does, indeed, "die on time." It doesn’t happen in all cases - for one thing, we have learned to seek a second opinion - but the fact that it can happen at all shows us the power of "programming."

But I also think we have some built-in defenses against negative programming. And this relates to what Ariel refers to as connecting with one’s higher self. I think there is something at the core of each person that I like to call the Observer. Maybe that’s not the best term - "a small still voice" is more poetic - but for me "Observer" fits because I sense a certain detachment about the Observer.

The Observer is never depressed, never sucked into insanity, and best of all, never damaged by the various traumas that happen to us. The Observer watches the traumas and KNOWS that’s not right, but if we get hysterical in response, the Observer also calmly points out that that’s wrong, with a sort of "here I go again" internal little sarcasm. If we start doing something obsessive, like accumulating possessions, the observer calmly points out that all this stuff is really a pile of trash.

And I think the Observer is FEARLESS even in the face of death, because the Observer is terrifically curious about any adventure, and this is perhaps the ultimate adventure to watch. I feel that the Observer part of me is so intensely curious about life that there are times when I may be weeping over some crisis while the Observer is dancing, happy to be learning so much.

isn’t it ironic that we worry so much about the carcinogens in our food + so little about carcinogenic emotions?
After endless profiles of centenarians whose main health practice includes never going to a doctor, having a drink a day, a pound of chocolate a week (Jeanne Calment), and above all an active mind (generally a high IQ is a good predictor of longevity), a feisty attitude, and a sense of humor, no one can argue that the secret of long life is this or that diet, and just so much exercise, and these particular supplements, and so forth.

Yes, diet and exercise do have an impact, and I think we are on the verge of creating more sophisticated supplements that truly work, but it’s probably always going to be secondary next to the mental/emotional factors.

We don’t just believe, we KNOW that thoughts and emotions have a tremendous impact on our health, probably greater than anything else, and that the biochemistry of hope and joy is the biochemistry of health and longevity. It would not be all that surprising if ultimately
THE VERY EXPECTATION OF A LONG AND PRODUCTIVE LIFE had a tremendous influence on actual longevity, together with the emotional strength and joy that come from being connected to the center of one’s existence (whether we call it the higher self or soul or "Observer" or whatever makes sense to us).

The factor of having a nurturing relationship with a life partner (or, for women, with a network of female friends) is also very important, according to a recent book, "Secrets of the Superyoung." Having a good relationship with oneself probably falls into this category, too - can you nurture yourself as much as you can nurture somebody you love? Ask a mother if she can imagine treating herself as she would a beloved child. But suppose that the effect is not all that strong. It is possible that the power of viruses and free radicals is ultimately what counts.

My father liked to point out that even if we wiped out all disease, cosmic radiation would still destroy us in the end. Given our mortality, is there a rationale for living in a soul-nourishing way?

I think so, because joy is its own reward. And it makes us more capable of connecting with others, with nature, with all that is. As William Wordsworth writes, "With an eye made quiet by the power of harmony, and the deep power of joy, we see into the life of things." And as someone whose name escapes me said, "We weren’t born to survive, only to live."
